I do not have a character on STL, nor have I (as far as I can remember, and as of November 25th, 2005) ever even connected there. Certainly not within the past six months. So I, obviously, could not have told anyone who he is there. There are, however, people there who have graciously promised to send me logs of his exploits. (Hi, Ron/Joseph/Bernard/Tu’mak/Aarvim... You want a hint? Don’t act like a numbskull and people won’t guess who you are!) ======================================================================== HEADER: [REPORT] SENDER: [AARVIM] DATE: [12/27/79] This is an official report on a death that occured in sickbay. A man, Lieutenant Gary Larz, was brought into sickbay. He was in cardiac arrest. The reason was found that he had been given 5cc's of Amythyline for a terrible migrane headache and told to stay inactive for one week. That lasted about two days, according to his roomate, Calvyn Terrace. He was practicing martial arts with a friend, who was unaware that he had been ordered to not be active, when he suffered a cardiac arrest. He was brought to sickbay. At first his friend, Lieutenant JG Walter Nels from operations, just wanted to stand and watch, but then he got some kind of idea that he could, without any medical training as I had already verified, help. He attempted to force his way. I called security. First, lieutenant Bauers arrived and questioned him. Then armored guards arrived. All the while he was trying to force his way to the operating table. Lieutenant Bauers asked him to leave, but he rather threw all his weight at one of the nurses who was assisting me, causing the microscalpel that she was holding to pierce the man's heart. He lost much blood at that occurance, and the shock force three quick beats from his heart, forcing out even more blood. Although I patched the wound up and cleaned it, he died. Lieutenant Nels attempted to escape, but he was caught be the guards and brigged. {CC: drei bauers orarin t'pesh briar sandri s'len} ======================================================================== IC message regarding Aarvim (Ron). He's given up on Security at last, and become a medic. Oh the horror.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sirs, With this message, I wish to complain about the behavior of Ensign Aarvim M'talrii Dar. Though I realise he is new to this ship, I feel that strong guidance may be needed. While recovering from my time in captivity, the Ensign entered Sickbay and proceeded to ask me questions in a loud tone of voice, even though I was clearly napping. When I complained his current volume was hurting my head, rather than lower his voice he proceeded to prepare medication to treat the pain he was causing me. Several times I asked him to leave, but the ensign engaged the restraint field rather than listen to me. Unable to move, I was required to watch in horror due to recent trauma, how the Ensign proceeded to give me pain medication. Due to my weakened state, I lost consciousness. When I awoke hours later, I was lucky to find Sickbay empty, and decided to get some sleep. After that, I was visited by Commodore Briar Mage, in regards to the recent happenings aboard the ship. While this visit and debriefing was underway, Ensign Dar entered once more and I requested of him not to approach me any further. He commented that he should be allowed to do his duty, at all costs, even against my will. To my good fortune, Commodore Mage subsequently forbade him from giving me medical treatment unless I specifically requested otherwise. The ensign proceeded to question the Commodore's authority, but finally conceded. I find this sort of behavior to be unacceptable for a medical officer. As I stated then, I state now again that I'd rather be treated by a Klingon field medic than Ensign Dar. As Doctor Baran is absent, I am sending this complaint to Lieutenant Drei, but also to Doctor Baran to keep her informed upon return. Naturally, as this complaint concerns him, a copy will also be sent to Ensign Dar. So noted, Ensign R'ull ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- And Ron’s response?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- In regards to the complaint that was sent out by Mr. R'ull, I would like to comment: I will admit that I did medicate him when he had asked me to leave, but I thought it must have been the pain, or he was just adgitated for some reason. In regards to the "loud voice" I seem to have used, I was whispering. Only loud enough to wake the sleeping ensign and ask him what was wrong. When he complained of a headache I did a medscan and proceeded to give him 2cc's Clynausticine. A simple pain medication. I restrained him because I felt he was acting foolishly and very much needed the medication. As to my questioning of the Commodore's authority. I did not question his authority, certainly not 'continually'. I asked him if, in a state of emergency where Mr. R'ull would die if not treated, if I then had authorization to treat him. When I was answered, I accepted the point. As for 'unacceptable behaviour', I was acting in what I felt was Mr. R'ull's best interest, therefor I believe that no punishment should be delivered. I do not understand why Mr. R'ull feels the way he does and is continually complaining. He has already made himself very clear on the matter to Commodore Briar Mage and I had agreed not to treat him against his will any farther. I cannot understand why, therefore, Mr. R'ull would continue to complain of my actions. Aarvim M'talrii Darval. Medical officer, USS Cochrane. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
